Teen Coalitions Thank Officers for Support
On August 6, 2007, the What Up Wit Dat? Teen Coalition for a Drug Free Warren County visited the Vicksburg Police and Warren County Sheriff's Departments with members of MADD's Youth in Action to thank them for the work they do in protecting the youth of the community. The teens, who have also worked with local law enforcement in doing compliance checks and sticker shock, took the officers a sheet cake they prepared. www.drugfreevicksburg.org

Festival of
Trees Raises Scholarships
National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was chosen to be the
beneficiary of the Annual Festival of Trees in Vicksburg,
Mississippi. The 3-day event raised money for scholarships for the
Warren County area. Over 2,000 people visited the center during the
weekend, opening the Christmas season and honoring our men of law
enforcement.
Black Tie
Award Event
The 2004 Officers were treated to an elegant black tie event on
Friday, evening November 21, 2003. There, the 2004 Award Recipients
were announced. The Mayor of Vicksburg issued a Proclamation
declaring that November 21st was "Law Enforcement Appreciation Day".
Documentary
Wins Marketing Award
Each year in conjunction with Vicksburg Access TV, L.E.A.D. profiles
award recipients filming a documentary on how and why the officers
felt lead to their profession and what law enforcement means to each
officer. L.E.A.D. received a GOLD Award from the Vicksburg
Association of Marketing Professionals under the heading of
"Consumer Education."

Pegasus Award
L.E.A.D. won a National Pegasus Gold Award under the Category of
Government-Law Enforcement.
